Internet Explorer 8 Acid Tests

Well I just completed the Acid Tests for Internet Explorer 8 and here are the results and I have to say that they are very  shocking to say the least, especially in compatibility mode.  Although I haven’t gone to too many website in Internet Explorer 8, IE 8 breaks apart the post panel in various parts and and bump me to compatibility eariler in the admin panel as well.  However, lets get to the Acid Test Results as I have interesting things to say about them.

Acid Test #1 – Pass

Acid Test #2 – Pass

Acid Test #3 – Fail

Not only did it fail the acid test with a horrible 12, but it would crash the moment it hit 13/100 and on top of that, compatibility mode failed this as well.  My question is what happen because the very first beta release had no problems whatsoever with the acid test and if I remember correctly it was in the low 50’s I believe.  So Microsoft Should be really concerned about that and begin updating the engine to fix the problems they are having with the Acid 3 test, because none of the other browsers have crashed.

On top of that it loaded horrible slow for me but odds are because my system isn’t as fast as it use to be since it almost 3 years old now.  Still, loading new tabs was slow and so that speed they brag about isn’t really there unless your on a brand new machine or your reinstalled the operating system on your older computer just to see how fast it is.  So Microsoft get going on those updates because you have a lot of them to get through and I wouldn’t be surprise if we see no more then 30 updates this year for the browser alone

You actually expected more from that POS?

It’s only 2008… give them some more time to get it right…
