I Am Famous, School Website Famous

14 May 2009 No Comment

Well I though I would post this now and get the embarrassment over with, and that being mentioned in the college website for the work I did for the Vermont FBLA chapter.  Of course, the only thing wrong with this article is that ugly pic of me,  and I thought my drivers license photo was horrible, well it is, but still ugly photo of me (the guy in the hat and beard).  So here is what the college said of me, and although what is not new, I can look past that title they gave and although I doubt it will be there long here is a link to where you can see it and the embarrassing photo.

CCV STUDENT EMPLOYS HIS NEW SKILLS IN LOCAL COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT

This spring semester, CCV- Brattleboro student Michael Anderson was assigned a capstone project in his Community and Work Experience course, which integrates community service into the curriculum. Nearing completion of his associate degree in web design, Michael sought a project that could utilize his web design skills. He enlisted Jil MacMenamin, a member of the New England Adobe Users Group and a CCV instructor, to supervise his project.

Michael offered his services to the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), a group that would benefit from an upgrade to their website. Working closely with FBLA President James Weber from the Southwest Vermont Career Development Center, and in collaboration with several local organizations, Michael redesigned the FBLA website and added a functionality that allows members to meet online, saving travel time and costs.

Michael will be graduating from CCV on May 31 at the College’s commencement ceremony to be held at Norwich University in Northfield.

Although I don’t like to talk about myself and my accomplishments, I thought I would bring this one up just because it shows what two years of hard work can do.  Especially for my age and where I oculd have been now if I went to college earlier.  Now I will try to figure out where to finish my next two years and add a BA next to my name.  Now hopefully that piece of paper will land me a job somewhere.
