Wow, its been awhile since I paid a visit to smashingmagazine.com and so I paid a visit today and saw that they had some great HTML5 resources.  Or rather a super sexy cheat sheet for HTML 5 syntax and so that is what today’s post is going to be about HTML 5 and all the resources you can handle.

This is an up and coming HTML 5 website which covers all things HTML 5 by asking questions and getting a reply either through examples or some various tips and tricks.

HTML 5 Browser Compatibility

This next website is a great website that lets you know what parts of HTML 5, CSS3 and SVG can be used on which browser or rather what version of that particular browser the latest code can be used successfully.  Sadly though Internet Explorer 8 cannot use a lot of the CSS3 features and so you either have to wait for them to update the brower, find hotfixes for them to work or wait for Internet Explorer 9 to come out.

Implementations in Web browsers

This is another browser comparison site ala wiki stylee, but rather talk about the browsers themselves they use the engines that are being used to design the web browsers.  Of course, from the looks of it that a lot of HTML 5 properties are not working for any of the engines or it hasn’t been updated recently.

To add to the CS4 line of cheat sheets thanks to subdivision website, I quickly notice Adobe Flash CS4 Cheat sheet from the site and wanted to add it in to the list as well.  Again it is well organized with all the keyboard shortcuts to help make you a faster user of flash and cut down production time and stuff like that.

Again the cheat sheet comes in both PC and Mac and you can easily download them from the subdivision website or for quicker download you can get them here.

In a small update to my cheat sheet posts, a comment was posted by subdivision, he did up a cheat sheet for Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 and after checking out the legitmacy of it to make sure.  It looks to be a good cheat sheet to have for Dreamweaver CS4 as it pretty much includes all the shortcuts and stuff for the software.

Adobe Flex has become a big software package in the last couple of years, with a huge increase in flex developers.  Of course, I had big interest after learning I could get the software for free because of my student status on top of that free posters as well.  So I got it and tried it out, sadly though my knowledge and programming skill lack there of so I haven’t gone to far beyond designing contact forms and layouts.  Either way I want to continue on with the series of cheat sheets that I have found and so here is a download for Adobe Flex 3 Cheat Sheet.

Without AJAX I think we wouldn’t be able to do a lot with Web design these days or Web 2.0 wouldn’t be as successful or explosive as it is now. Of course, thanks to the development of jQuery, Mootools, Prototype and other JavaScript based scripts then web applications wouldn’t be as big and would require heavy use of PHP or even ASP in order to make some of them possible. So with the next set of cheat sheets I am providing are from those same scripts that help make AJAX possible and so you can download them from the following links.

I thought I do some more cheat posts that I found on the next and I thought I toss in a combination of cheatsheets since these two work side by side with each other.

The first cheat sheet is for PHP in which it lists date formats, regular expressions and some common functions as well, but I am unsure of how current it is since PHP 5 or rather PHP 6.  Either way I think these are common enough that it wouldn’t really matter which version of PHP you are using and so you can download it here.

The next cheat sheet is for MySQL database platform and list pretty much all the stuff you can do within MySQL, of course it would help to know what everything does.  Thus you would need to know about MySQL just be able to use the cheat sheet as a quick reference then anything else, but I am a bit surprise how much you can do in MySQL.  Of course, I am not much of a database programmer and so those who do it for a living might not be as surprised and so you can download it here.

Now that you have these two cheat sheets you won’t have to go through all the books, visit all the websites just to make sure you type the syntax correctly. Of course, it is always good to have a few books and know some website to help you learn how to program in PHP and MySQL.

Learning to web design can become a tedious task, especially trying to code to standards and of course trying to figure out all the tags that can be used with those standards. As of right now HTML 4.01, XHTML 1 are the current web design standards, with HTML 5 and XHTML 2 still in progress of being finalize. Although, quite a few sites have since been moving over to HTML 5 and XHTML 5 but but you can’t much without really getting to know who uses what for coding a website and so I bring you cheat sheets that could help you out in learning the various tags in HTML and XHTML.

For the last decade or so, CSS has made web design a lot easier for designing pretty website and of course being able to design a global look without the need to using a bunch of CSS files to do it so.  On top of that it made the source code for website smaller and snaller as the CSS mark up got larger and larger.  Of course, in the last few years CSS frame works begin to appear and thus making designing the CSS file itself become less tedious as these frame works made it easier with predefine mark up with various styles.  So I want to introduce some of the more popular CSS Frameworks out there that might make your designing websites a lot quicker.
