Old School Review: Mega Man 3

It is still July and I have a few weeks before I register for classes and about two months before I begin a very grueling school schedule. So I thought I get it on with some Mega Man 3 which is by far one of the longest games in this franchises history and I tell you why. Not only do you go through 8 original bosses but you almost have to fight Mega Man 2 bosses as well on top of 6 stages of Dr. Wiley hell as well.
Yeah it …

Old School Review: Megaman 2

Though I was going to do all of these in just six days, stuff came up and had postponed my next game review of the Megaman franchise.  While it is raining and my sexy woman is singing to me I thought I would get the second game in.  Now if memory serves me correct, it does, this was the game that introduce me to the Megaman series and it was quite a difficult game, sure I finally found out the right order to beat each boss.  However, that doesn’t mean …

Old School Review: MegaMan I

You know summer is almost here when thousands of students across the US are graduating from high school and college and begin a new life. That of course includes yours truly but I thought I would start the summer early by going through one of the biggest franchises in Capcom history and no its not Streetfighter but Mega Man.
I remember this franchise quite well as I started with Mega Man 2 and then would go on to play 1, 3 and 4 during Nintendo’s golden years. One of my greatest …

Old School Review: Jackal

With Spring in the air and free time on my hand I thought I would continue with the classic military games and talk about Jackal.  I don’t even know the last time I played this game on the console, but do remember playing it a few times though and didn’t start playing it until I cam across it with my collection of games.  Although Konami would go off with its most successful Metal Gear/Solid franchise, this was still a good game with some great fun and challenging bosses as …

Old School Gaming Review: Iron Tank: The Invasion of Nomandy

Iron Tank: The Invasion of Normandy
It has been awhile since I last did an old school review, the last of which was back in February with Contra. Now that school is officially over for me, for now, I thought I bust out a few old school reviews and I thought I go into some military based games and so I bring you Iron Tank.  One of the few games that I enjoyed, I believe I barrow this game and also rented it as well, I think, but either way this …

My brother and I spent countless hours playing this game, either single player or two player mode, we would eventually beat it with great success and many, many continues (lol). Although I have played the other Contra games, I feel as though the first one, excluding the arcade version, was the best one. Sure the graphics were pixilated and not loaded in layers of 3-D depth, but it was still a challenging game especially if you playing not to lose a single life. Of course, that was a challenge in …

I am sure most gamers by now have heard of Square, Squaresoft and its third incarnation Square-Enix, and odds are most gamers know about the RPG franchise this company has made as well. However, I doubt too many gamers know about a popular racing game that Square-Enix developed back in the 80s called Rad Racer. One of the few racing games made during the 80s for the NES, but what made this game so popular was its replay value, difficult and of course replay value. I spent countless hours to …

The New Year is upon us old school gamers and I thought I give you all a treat of another Old School Game Review. However, this time we are going to review second-generation console video games and thus let us go back to the past of the Nintendo Entertainment System.
It is funny about the stupid stuff you can remember, we went to the Ames store for some shopping and I think either my brother had the $100 or my dad did or it was split in half do not remember. …

Even though 1985 was the beginning of the most celebrated gaming Icon in the gaming world, Mario’s origins go back way farther than that. His beginnings would start in the ever-popular Donkey Kong series in 1981 and with his first official game in 1983 simply called Mario Bros and the rest is history. In what would bring the video game industry back from the grave, Super Mario Brothers is the most successful franchise in gaming history and if you do not know him by now then you surely have been …

I thought I would do another Nintendo Classic review and talk about one of my favorite series of all time, Wizard & Warriors. Some of my great memories of playing the NES were around this game, heck I even played this game with a busted controller to and that was even more difficult (lol). This was the only games I actually beat back in my young days of gaming without cheating, of course it did help that you had as many continues in the first one to keep on trying …
