Browser Wars Episode V: Mozilla Strikes Back

Well it would seem that Mozilla didn’t like the way Microsoft did the comparison chart on its brower and other competitive browsers, because after the release of Firefox 3.5 they did their own chart of Firefox vs Internet Explorer.  Of course, I have to agree with PCWorld that Mozilla is wasting everyone’s time with this little chart especially when comparing only five areas  while Microsoft covered ten.   Of course, Microsoft was at least nice to compare themselves with two browsers instead of one, but still what is the point of …

Run Firefox Like Chrome: Updated

Because of the Firefox Collections running at full blast, I thought I would start repackaging all the extensions I mentioned on either Trap17 or my blog.  Of course, after going through my extensions posts I realized that I would also have to repackage the Chrome extensions as well and so this is what today’s article is all about.

Firefox Dream Package Collections

After reading from lifehacker.com that Mozilla has made it possible to package your favorite extensions, I spent the morning going through all my Dream Packages  and started putting them together.  They include some old favorites such as Web Developer, Screengrab, Download Status Bar and I also updated them to include CustomizeGoogle, Google Icon, Fox Tab to help spruce up my Firefox a bit.  So lets get this show on the road  by first linking up to my original posts to get these extensions and then provide an updated link for …

If Browsers Were Women…I Hope Not

I was browsing the net today as I was slowly uninstalling useless programs off my computer and game across this interesting title called If Browsers Were Women.  At first I was like, this should be some interesting reading as it should have wonderful adult words,  but luckily it isn’t as each description is very short and sweet and to the point.

Update: How-To: Speed Up, Customize, and Secure Firefox, Chrome, IE8, and Opera

I thought I give everyone an update on a post I had made about speeding up browsers through various tweaks and hacks.  Well the verdict is in and I haven’t notice any speed difference on the three browsers that I did the tweaks on.  Odds are its because I have insane ISP speed and descent computer speed and so odds are this really more for slower computers with slower connections and what not.  So if you got a fast computer and a fast connection then don’t bother with any of …

Firefox Extensions Banaza! Everyone’s Favorite Firefox Extensions:

I was combing through digg today and notice a interesting trend going on, a lot of links to everyone’s favorite Firefox extensions.  So, I thought I would through a consolidated list of everyone’s favorites extensions and I have to warn my readers you might actually download them all and  crash your browser.  Also most of these links are geared towards firefox 2 but I assure you that most of them should work in Firefox 3 as well and so let us begin the insanity shall we?

( function() …

How-To: Speed Up, Customize, and Secure Firefox, Chrome, IE8, and Opera

I ran into this article today from Maximum PC about how to tweak the big name browsers Internet Explorer 8, Firefox, Opera and Chrome to be more efficient.  Now I haven’t had the chance to really try them out yet because of the lack of time.  However, I wanted to give my readers a chance to check them out and see if they are any benefit to you.  It is a good six pages long and I would highly recommend that you do some restore points as well because …

Tab Switching Between Chrome and Firefox

Although, I visit the lifehacker website to read some interesting articles, but when they mention that all lifehacker readers knew about what I be talking about next, I was like, “I did not know this.”  Anyway, lifehacker mentions about being able to move one tab to another using Chrome and Firefox.  Also you can move tabs to Internet Explorer 7 and 8, Safari 4B1, but not Opera though.

Test Your Website in 60+ Browsers

In keeping up with browser compatibility posts, another service that could be beneficial for website designers is called Browser Shots.  What this service does is takes a screen shot of your website base on what browser engine is being used and then after a few minutes, it will showcase the browser shots in a nice little window and then you can see how your website looks.  The website covers 4 operating systems worth of browsers, which includes Linux, Microsoft, Mac and BSD and for the browsers that are being tested,  …

Browser Speed: Do We Care??

In what seems to be the 36,213,562,234,524 article on browser speed in the browser wars, PCWorld.com now says Google Chrome is the fastest browser on the market.  On that note who really cares about speed?  Granted that about 25-30% of the world is on a broadband connection of 1Mpbs or higher with the rest in a messy combination of dial-up, DSL, WI-FI and we want more and more speed.
