Reading Cookies in PHP

So if you were to run that script in the last example, and then click on the new link that the message creates you should get a not found message, and so now we are going to set up a PHP script to be able to ready that sotred cookie data.

Setting Up Cookies by Using PHP

Internet cookies are as old as the browser itself, cookies are used to track and temporary store data on a person’s browser while web surfing through various websites, especially websites that require a person to log in or input search engine data. Of course, with the help of PHP you can actually design scripts to set up cookie data, and this is most evident when your shopping online looking at products, purchasing products or creating a new account.

( function() {
if (window.CHITIKA === undefined) {

Setting Up A Multidimensional Array

We learned out to set up an array, add to an array, but instead of showing how to display the array and or deleting entries in the array, we are going a step further and go into how complicated arrays can get by setting up a multidimensional array. Now Multidimensional Array’s are a enigma they are both easy and complicated, the easy part is connecting everything together and displaying the data, the complicated part is actually structuring Multidimensional Array’s. Because of the fact that you will be using 2 …

Adding Data To An Existing PHP Array

In our last example we broke down what an array is and all the parts to make an array and of course two ways to display the information in the array. Now we are going to add more variables to array but not how you might think by just editing the script and then adding the information in, instead you will be editing the file by adding new information to the existing file.

( function() {
if (window.CHITIKA === undefined) {

More on PHP Arrays & How To Display Array Data

In my earlier examples we had briefly talk about array’s, well this week it is all about the php array. So what is an array? A array is a collection of singular values(meaning one value) that are put together and assembled to make one variable based on all the information in that array.

( function() {
if (window.CHITIKA === undefined) {
window.CHITIKA = { ‘units’ : [] };
};
var unit = {

PHP and switch Conditional Statements

So we learned briefly about if, else and elseif conditionals and in the next example we will be talking about switch conditionals. So what is switch conditional? Basically a switch conditional is used to shorten up code if you have a lot of elseif statements by taking one possible condition and running it through.

( function() {
if (window.CHITIKA === undefined) {
window.CHITIKA = { ‘units’ : [] };
};
var unit = {

PHP and elseif Conditional Statement

Although, I should have covered else conditional statements instead, I though to myself that should be pretty easy to understand if you were to look for tutorials on that, and so instead I will be talking about elseif conditionals. So what is a elseif condition? In short it is a running if conditional, meaning that it would go through the list of criteria that you have set and so it would look like this.

( function() {
if (window.CHITIKA === undefined) {

In this weeks PHP examples, we are going to learn some new stuff such as If conditionals, elseif conditionals and switch conditionals. So what are if conditionals, elseif conditionals and switch conditionals you may ask? In short if your PHP sees something very specific that a user puts in then the script must run something else. So lets break it down a little further shall we?

( function() {
if (window.CHITIKA === undefined) {
window.CHITIKA = { ‘units’ …

If you have ever work in excel you know that you need to format numbers either from automatic calculations or typing them in. Well, that is possible in PHP with the use of two functions, round( ) and number_format( ). If you can remember back in your early school days, you were taught about rounding up or rounding down with anything lower then 5 gets rounded down while 5 and above get rounded up. On top of that you can set up this function to tell how many decimal …

I don’t think anything else that benefited from PHP then e-commerce. Without PHP I would think it be a lot tricker to run a e-commerce without a little PHP for back end support. Even though ASP is its own language and could do the same thing it is a bit tricky to run ASP on a linux server without doing some modifications.

( function() {
if (window.CHITIKA === undefined) {
window.CHITIKA = { ‘units’ : [] };
