Google Operating System: Big Risk or Worth Wild Venture

Big news coming out of Google, they plan on producing a open source operating system that is based off its Chrome browser.  They plan on starting small and design the operating system for operating systems and build up from there and the best part their operating system is going to be free.

Internet Explorer 8 Campaign

Even though I gave praise for Microsoft and its food campaign, it seems that the big headlines this week is the comparison Microsoft is making with Internet Explorer 8 and everyone else.  interestingly enough you be surprised by the results….ok not really but yeah IE8 wins in all the categories, shocking I know but at least Microsoft was gracious enough to give some ties with other browsers.

WordPress Plugin Starter Guide

Although I have been blogging in WordPress for about 6 months now and after suggestion a few blogs on what plug-ins to use and of course some recommendations from a few WordPress users.  So if you’re getting into blogging and are going to be using WordPress as your blog software and in the process of installing plug-ins.  I would recommend what I call the starter package and what I mean by that is you want to install these plug-ins before anything else and before posting.

Flying High In The Clouds

The twenty-first century is the beginning of the new millennium and with that the beginning of a new era in computer technology.  Personal computers have seen great advances over the years, bigger hard drives, faster processors, well detailed graphic cards and of course the internet.  It is the drive for finding new information and then storing that information which makes people want to make these computers faster and smarter and so that is where the concept of cloud computing comes into place.
In recent years cloud computing has become the hottest …

Google Chrome Week Day 4

Moving right along with day 4, I will be talking about the secrets or easter eggs of Google Chrome,  now it has been a good six months since Chrome came out and so most of the easter eggs are known.  However, not all websites cover every last one of them and so I want to consolidate all the easter eggs into one location.  Now we all know that easter eggs are little secrets designed by the programmers to be found.  Now most easter eggs are humorous or fun with quotes …

Google Chrome Week Day 3

My apologies for the lack of day 3 as I was not feeling well and so I be doing a double whammy of day three and day 4four today.  My plan for day three was to talk about Chrome themes, and yes it is possible to use custom themes to change the look of chrome.  Being able to change Chromes theme was discovered the week it came out, I believe, and the method to change the theme required the replacing of a DLL file that controls the default theme.  …

Google Chome Week Day 2

In our last article, Google Chrome Week Day 1, I discussed some  various hacks and tricks with Chrome Browser and so day two will be about extensions.  Even though every praised its speed and simplicity the one thing that Chrome lack was extensions and because of that, Google Chrome usefulness shot down quicker then Microsoft’s bid on Yahoo.  Even though the initial release of Chrome did not have any support for extensions, the current version Google Chrome 2.0.180.0 has added extension capabilities.

Google Chrome Week Day 1

In recent months I have talk a lot about Firefox and Internet Explorer, since I use them the most often in that order.  However, in recent days I have come across a lot of Google Chrome stuff and various things you can do with Chrome besides browsing the web.  I won’t be getting into extensions too much for Chrome as it hasn’t become stable enough to warrant such discussion, however I will provide some website that cover the development of chrome extensions as I run by them.
Anyway, although I don’t …

Saint Michael Goes Twitter and Other Stuff!

You could say it was some interesting words from a fellow blogger and an old aquintence of mine that mention I should get into the twittering business.  Well unlike most people who use the service, I plan to keep my personal out of it as much as possible and rather use twitter and use it to tweet links of posts I think might interest people.  I have to say, after about about 70 tweets, which included some incomplete links, I seen my visits spike up today and even though I …

Characteristics of Cloud Computing

There was an article today from ZDNet that I thought would be interesting, especially for those with a interest in cloud computing.  Now I said I would talk about the negative side to cloud computing but I thought I keep the benefits and in this case, the characteristics and of course that was due partly from this article.
